For over 60 years, nothing has mattered more to Tylenol than the well-being of your family. Today there is a new ‘normal’ when it comes to American families – one that is made up of a variety of structures, embraces openness, acceptance and diversity and prioritizes love above all else.

To celebrate this, Tylenol created the #HowWeFamily program to recognize all families and demonstrate that it’s not about who you love but how.

This holiday season, Tylenol celebrates the unique traditions of families with a holiday video card featuring real families like yours.

To join Tylenol’s mission, some of our bloggers have shared their own #HowWeFamily stories and shown us what family means to them during the holiday season and we want to share these reasons with you:

“For me, family is about embracing the ones that are there, and choose to be in your life day in and day out. The biological family members that do, and the friends who have become like family through the years. It’s about being happy and confident in the ones that love you and the ones you love. Even when it doesn’t look like every one else’s family. This week, my kids and I are off to visit my best friends, who have been my family now for almost 20 years. We’ve been through the very hardest and very happiest times of life together, and even though it doesn’t look like every one else’s family, we’re family in our own way.” – Beauty Through Imperfection

“The holidays are full of excitement, wonder and love and everyone celebrates differently! Take time to share special moments together with your family this season and embrace what it is that makes your family unique. A blueprint for the perfect family does not exist. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what race, sex, or religion you are, what makes a family a family are the people.” – Cozy Country Living

“Ever since we moved away from where I grew up, we’ve noticed that our traditions sort of vary every year and adapt to what everyone else is doing that particular holiday. It also doesn’t help that my husband’s family is also far away, so technology has made it very nice to be able to join all of our families together via video-chat or some sort of streaming service. While nothing will ever replace being able to get and receive a hug from a loved one, we understand that we live in a globalized world that moves at a super-fast pace and sometimes doesn’t leave room for traditional celebrations. That’s why it’s super important to always realize that it’s not who you love, but how you love!” – Life Is Poppin

“My boyfriend and I were first considered a family when we moved in together. Just him, the 3 cats, and I. So how do we family? We support each other through all of life’s trials and tribulations. During the holidays, our diverse families come together for one big celebration. We are an interracial couple, but that has never stopped our families from loving and accepting one another. We laugh, we love, we support, we care, and we experience life together. We don’t see color, religion, or language barriers. We see love and we see family.” – Women and Their Pretties

“As a military family, we know that the time spent with family is that much more special, because it doesn’t always happen. We also know that family is defined not by just our blood relatives, but all those friends who become our family when we are far from home for the holidays. We have spent more than a few holidays with only our friends. Those friends have become like family to us, even though we no longer live near most of them and haven’t seen many in a while.” – Ramblings of a Marine Wife
