Skype announced that it was available on Panasonic and Samsung HDTVs at CES in 2010. See http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-tv/. At CES in 2011, Skype expanded this to Sony, Vizio AND Toshiba HDTVs. And, for those who don’t want to buy a new HDTV so soon after they bought one, Skype will also be available through Panasonic and Sony Blu-Ray Players – coming later this year.

I’m using Skype on my ipod Touch 4th generation. I subscribe to the monthly US service so I can call mobile or landlines. I also purchased the online number to receive calls on my ipod touch when people dial my google voice number. I’m writing about my experiment to use the ipod touch + the Virgin Mobile mifi to reduce the monthly cell phone bill with this solution. I also love using Skype to chat with my kids when I’m traveling for work. It’s so much better than a phone call because I can see their faces.

looking to connect mom with child in hospital to other siblings..OUTSIDE of the hospital. Would FREETALK/SKYPE be a good suggestion?

I NEED INPUT ASAP, PLEASE….a girlfriend of mine has daughter in hospital (LONG TERM). She has a son that can’t stay at the hospital with his sister and only gets to see his mom & sis 2 times a week (If that).
I want to get a system for my friend. Something she can use in hospital room to chat with the son at home.
PLEASE advise me on the best product(s). I need everything required to make this work.
