The Minnesota Children's museum is free to go to on every 3rd Sunday of the month. This monthly event is sponsored by Target. This is a great to allow the kids to have fun at a great price.

The Boston Museum of Science has been an annual destination for our west-coast-situated family since our kids were tiny. There is something for kids of every age, including a terrific exploration and play space for babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and (last year) a huge Harry Potter exhibit for older kids. The natural sciences exhibits are spectacular. The hands-on mechanical science exhibits are fascinating - computers, robotics, circuitry, topography, space travel, and a huge electricity show featuring towering pillars of crackling, zapping light and thunder. We went there as kids and love sharing the experience with our children now. Our son and daughter (preschool and K) beg to return and would gladly spend days exploring if we had the time.

The Santa Fe Children's Museum was a wonderful surprise for us on a recent trip to NM. Two different, fantasticly creative, bubble experiences ensure that kids and adults have a blast. A complex water feature, animal visitors, a large outdoor interactive exploration space, indoor climbing structure, dress up supplies and stage all contribute to the popularity of this terrific museum. The circular,do-it-yourself face painting station has about 6 spaces for kids to paint themselves and each other with an unlimited supply of face painting crayons. There is also a 4-seat, hoist-your-own-body-into-the-air chair which looks like gym equipment but is way more fun! It's a lovely, watery platelets in a dry, dry desert town.
