When Shera isn’t writing for Mom Central and researching tips and tricks for a healthier family, you will find her at her personal blog A Frog In My Soup, which incidentally is about life as a mom and not about cooking frog soup. She also does digi scrapping for several amazing artists and designs blogs for moms.
Shera’s quest to find healthier foods and products for her home was triggered by her husband’s diagnosis of a pre-cancerous colon polyp when he was only 32. Since then he has been quite healthy but it’s made her think a little more seriously about what her family was consuming and exposed to each day.
Shera is a rebellious cook who wants to find the simplest way possible to prepare something so she isn’t stuck in the kitchen all day – a challenge when you are committed to creating everything from scratch so you know what is going into the food your family eats. Trying to maintain a balanced and healthy view of food, planning and preparing meals the family will enjoy, and sticking to a budget with a large family is something she strives to do at all times. This definitely can be challenging, but she has learned a few tricks along the way and hopes to share them with her readers.
