When it comes to children’s clothing, I am always torn between dressing my two kids in stylish and fun outfits, yet keeping them comfortable. And, like many Moms with young ones in daycare or preschool, my kids come home covered in paint, glitter and food from their daily activities. Yet, the inner fashionista in me always obsesses about their outfits, making sure they match (as much as I can with my stubborn four-year old that is!) and look cute. You never know who you’re going to run into while out and about with your kids, right?
Last year I was fortunate to do a review and giveaway of Tea Collection’s Fall product line with my daughter, just as she was about to enter pre-school. My daughter loved the clothes so much they are still part of her weekly wardrobe. They combine the super cute look and design that I want, with the comfort and casualness that she needs to keep up with her active lifestyle. When approached by the awesome team over at Tea for coverage of their newest Spring 2012 collection, I instantly jumped at the chance to do another review and giveaway!
Tea Collection Overview
For those not familiar with Tea, they specialize in creating modern clothing from various cultures around the world. The designers use inspiration from international travel to create unique fashion lines for babies, girls, boys and even women, too! The creative team at Tea Collection has visited distinct regions like Brazil, West Africa, Norway, and Catalonia, with each trip inspiring bold ideas for new patterns and fabrics. These unique and diverse collections allow us to experience foreign style and celebrate diversity – no matter where we live!
The 2012 Tea Collection Spring line was inspired by a trip to Bali where the team was surrounded by happiness and artistic innovation. They learned new weaving and dying techniques, and even the name of each piece, like ikats and batik, represent the language used in Bali. The girls line includes adorable dresses, skirts, tops, leggings, and hoodies. Boys can choose from colorful tees, safari shirts, polos, and cargo or plaid shorts.
Brooke and Gavin Take on Bali!
We were fortunate to receive several pieces from the Spring line for my daughter Brooke, but also a few items for my one-year old son Gavin. We had a blast during our photo shoot, especially Brooke who loves to wear anything bright and colorful. Some of her favorites included the Prambanan Sash Dress paired with the Sparkle Stripe Leggings. We also loved the Starling Batik Playdress with the Skinny French Terry Cargo Pant in her favorite color purple!
Although Gavin can’t quite express his personal feelings toward fashion, he definitely lets it known when he finds something uncomfortable to wear. Which was definitely not the case with the boy Tea samples we received as he was bopping around and posing right along with his big sis. I absolutely loved him in the Kendang Polo paired with the Surplus Playwear Pants. He looked ready for a tropical weekend getaway! He also looked absolutely adorable in the Alligator Ikat Tee Shirt. He’ll be the coolest kid at the playground for sure!
Take a look at the gallery below for some fun photos we took of them modeling their new Tea clothes. Despite the fact that they were indoors, they easily embraced the energy and inspiration of Bali!
