Computer Meets Downward Dog. Well, not really. But the Ideapad “Yoga” laptop/tablet hybrid creation that Lenovo unveiled during the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show, offers up some pretty cool tricks.
The 13.3-inch, high-definition display screen can swivel 360 degrees as it turns from laptop to tablet extraordinaire. With four positions including notebook, tablet, tent, and stand, this versatile device transforms depending on your computing needs and activities.
Converting this laptop to tablet (and vice-versa) makes for convenient use at work or on the go. With the Yoga, which comes equipped with Windows 8, go from note-taking in the tablet position during a meeting to writing e-mails back at your desk in laptop-mode.
Weighing in at just under four pounds, the Yoga offers real portability while traveling. The stand position proves well-suited for watching movies, and the screen clarity resembles that of a jumbo flat screen TV. And, when in tent-mode, the Yoga becomes a valuable business partner – offering visibility and positioning for on-the-go presentations.
The Lenovo Horizon Tablet – the first table PC and the Yoga’s older, bigger brother – features a 27-inch display and goes from a desktop computer to a tablet gaming system with smart-hinge technology.
When the device lies flat, the Aura user interface activates to a gaming console for touch-and-play activity with an array of fun games. And best of all, two users can interact with the tablet at the same time, playing with an assortment of apps and games. Although 35 games come pre-loaded on the device, Lenovo will soon open an app store for easy accessibility.
Need to take your laptop on the go? With Lenovo’s Rip & Flip device, go from laptop to tablet by simply “ripping” the screen off. You heard that right. Just detach the screen from the keyboard base and you’ve gone from laptop to mobile tablet in seconds…pretty cool!
