As Spa Week approaches each year, it offers Moms a fitting occasion to get out of our comfort zones, take a moment for ourselves, and try a new treatment or salon experience.

I’ve been in the midst of a hectic travel schedule – with more to come – so when our friends at Spa Week provided the opportunity for a complimentary facial at a local Clarins Skin Spa, I knew it would be just what my travel-weary self needed.

The Clarins’ spa treatments, methodically catered to your skin type and preferences, provide real, visible results. After my “luminosity” facial, I not only felt relaxed and rejuvenated, but my skin had also dramatically lightened. The licensed beauty therapist also provided me with valuable beauty and skincare tips to continue the pampering at home. For instance, washing your face with cold water in the morning helps to close your pores from exposure during the day; washing your face with warm water at night opens your pores to better retain moisture from your night moisturizer. Who knew?!

Olga, my beauty therapist, recommended to me the Clarins Double Serum anti-aging concentrate and Vital Light Day illuminating comfort moisturizing cream. From the standpoint of someone who had recognized the brand but had never actually tried Clarins products beforehand – pleasantly surprised proved an understatement. Extremely light, exuding an aroma bearing resemblance to a delicate perfume, the products feel and smell wonderful upon and following application.

Despite the Clarins’ elegant set-up in Bloomingdales, regular facials cost only $75 as opposed to an average $150 at your typical spa. Even better, during Spa Week – which takes place October 14th through 20th – select spa and wellness facilities around the country make several treatments available for $50 each. This year, make time for yourself and check out the Spa Week website to find a participating spa near you.
