-Mom Central met with the team at Charm City Cakes. All opinions are our own.
If you have ever watched the show “Ace of Cakes,” which appeared on the Food Network, you may recall the elaborate cakes, and the friendly, fun-loving staff. After a trip to the original Baltimore, Maryland location of Charm City Cakes, we can attest that everything you saw on TV is true – and the cakes are delicious too!
We were encouraged to visit the bakery after hearing about the new classes they are offering. Each class is themed, and teaches techniques like airbrushing, applying fondant, and more. The cakes that are made in class all look fantastic, so we assumed it must be incredibly difficult. But the team assured us that detailed instruction and a priority placed on fun over perfection, all contribute to the cakes coming out beautifully.
Though our visit didn’t coordinate with the class schedule, we were still able to stop by and learn more about the classes and what’s new with Charm City Cakes. Speaking of the classes, we’re still in a winter freeze, so we’re especially excited to think about spring, and hope to head down to take the Peony Class. All participants will learn how to make an elegant spring peony flower from fondant, and will place it on top of one of Charm City Cakes’ popular 6” cakes.

We’re hoping to hear about additional shipping possibilities in the future, so even more people can experience Charm City Cakes. For more information, including class schedules, please visit charmcitycakes.com
