This past September I entered a new phase of motherhood – having both of my children in school! My five year-old daughter attends kindergarten all day and my three year-old son goes to preschool two mornings a week. The first few weeks of this new schedule were bumpy, both physically and emotionally, as we all got used to things (especially me having to make so many lunches and snacks!) But I’m happy to say things have now evened themselves out and we are all settling into our afterschool and evening routines. Finding the balance of letting them relax and watch TV, play with electronics and get outside for fresh air and exercise, is now my biggest challenge. There are only so many hours in the day after school is done and I need to choose our activities wisely!
Monitoring their electronics usage is now becoming extremely important to me as I’m finding them both becoming more and more interested in playing video games and exploring different apps. We’re lucky to already own a kid-focused electronic tablet, but the graphics and sounds are just not comparable to those on my phone or tablet. The kids still fight over who gets to use these “real” electronic devices, and when we’re out and about, it’s just easier to hand over my phone to let them play on it than lugging around their own tablet.
We were recently approached by the team at ClickN KIDS to review their new tablet geared for kids (but with features and functionalities for adults), so I eagerly raised by hand to help out!
We were sent the ClickN KIDS tablet in pink (it comes in eight colors total) to review, which my five year old obviously loved. It has a very sturdy case that has already withheld lots of grabs, drops and bumps! The graphics are AMAZING and just as vibrant and clear as my own tablet. It came pre-loaded with over 30 applications, which was so fantastic to have right from the start. That’s so much more than our other kid tablets featured! And, a few of these pre-loaded apps were ones they were already familiar with like Talking Ginger, so that was great for them to instantly know what to do with it. One of the biggest features is the Looney Tunes Phonics app, which I’m finding both my kids benefitting from as my daughter is learning to read and my son still needs to work on some of this letter articulation, so they’re both able to do it together for different reasons.
All in all, the ClickN KIDS tablet is a huge hit in my family and the only problem now is making sure I give the kids equal playing time on it! For more information on the ClickN KIDS tablet, visit ClickNKidstablet.com.
