As Valentine’s Day gets closer, many are gearing up to send chocolates and flowers to family, friends, or that special someone. This year, why not give someone a gift that gives back, too?

Divine Chocolate makes delicious, high quality chocolate from beans grown in Ghana by farmers who are part of the only Fair Trade chocolate organization in the world. Every one of the 45,000 farmers who contributes beans to make Divine Chocolate products is part of the Kuapa Kokoo farmers’ cooperative and owns a portion of the company. This allows each farmer to keep more profits for themselves and to have a greater say in how the company operates. The additional profits kept by the farmers help stimulate the West African economy, contributing to the improvement of schools, healthcare, and social welfare.

On top of all this, the Kuapa Kokoo organization and Divine Company have also helped to empower women in Ghana. They are given the opportunity to become leaders in the coop and are taught skills to help them make their own income and provide for their families.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Divine has crafted a line of seasonal treats. This season’s offerings include creamy chocolate hearts available in both milk and dark chocolate as well as fruit-infused chocolate bars in flavors like white chocolate with strawberries and dark chocolate with raspberries.

An office full of dark chocolate fans, we opted to try the chocolate bar in the dark chocolate with raspberries flavor. Made from 70% cocoa, the bar certainly has that dark chocolate bite, but remains creamy and not at all bitter. The real raspberry pieces give it a nice little crunch as well as additional flavor. Enjoy the bar on its or melt it down and use it as a fondue base for favorite fruits!

You can purchase Divine Chocolates at specialty grocers including Whole Foods Market, Cost Plus World Market, Wegman’s, PCC, Fred Meyer, and online at http://buydivine.com.
