With summertime fast approaching, on-the-go snacks for kids rise up in importance on the shopping checklist. Whether at sleepaway camp, on vacation, or just on the playground, kids keep busy in the summer heat and need energy to refuel.

Dole Real Fruit Bites offer a healthy and kid-friendly travel snack. The bites contain pieces of sun-dried fruit dipped in yogurt and then dusted with toasted whole grain oats. They come in three fruit flavors: apple, pineapple, and mango. I tried the apple bites and they tasted like little subtly sweet pieces of apple pie that melted in my mouth. In addition to the delicious taste, the fruit packs only have 80-90 calories, no trans fat, and high vitamin C, making them a smarter snack option. I also like that each package includes 6 portable mini packs; they can easily fit in my purse or a kid’s back pocket.

The Dole fruit bites make tasty little surprises for kids in a camp care package or day camp lunch box. I carry them in my tote and the kid in me enjoys the taste too. You can find Dole Real Fruit Bites at grocery stores or online at www.dole.com.
