Mom Central was invited to attend an Epson Product Preview Event and had the chance to try the new Epson Expression Home XP-610 Small-in-One to facilitate this review. All opinions are our own.

Recently Mom Central was invited to attend an event to preview the new products that Epson was unveiling this Fall. From home entertainment systems, label makers, to printers with unbeatable photo quality, Epson has made some great innovations for 2013, and we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the products we saw in action.

The Epson Expression Home XP-610 Small-in-One packs a lot of high-quality features into a compact design. Created to be a complete wireless solution, the printer, scanner and copier delivers greater coverage and faster speeds that allow you to print from a home or office computer using Wi-Fi, and an iPad, iPhone, tablet, or smartphone with Epson Connect, an app that allows you to send (and even edit with advanced image enhancement tools) images straight from these mobile devices. The printer also has a port for SD cards, so it’s easy to print photos straight from your memory card, and scan devices directly to it. The color LED screen on the printer allows users to clearly see the images as they browse through them and select the image size, number of copies, and paper type you are using. The printer has separate trays for printing photos (4×6), traditional 8×10 (for photo paper and traditional stock), and even CD/DVD labels for customizable disc labels.

I put the XP-610 Small-in-One to the test by printing both from an SD card and from my mobile phone using the Epson Connect technology. I was blown away by the photo quality, as the prints were much sharper with brighter colors than the last time I had printed at my local pharmacy’s one-hour machine. There is worry-free handling with smudge, scratch, and water resistant prints. This unit is ideal for families who would like to have a compact printer, scanner and copier in their homes, and can also be a huge time and money saver for those who print photos often. The XP-610 Small-in-One retails for $149.99, which I feel is a GREAT value based on the unbeatable image quality this device delivers.

pson PowerLite Home Cinema 730HD Widescreen HD Projector
One of our other favorite products was the Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 730HD, a widescreen HD projector which brings the big screen experience into the home. The projector was set up in a mock living room, and I felt as if I were at a cinema watching a movie. The picture quality was incredibly clear. The projector can also be connected with some of your favorite streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, or gaming systems, for larger-than-life entertainment. It can withstand a screen up to 300 inches, and has built-in speakers. The projector retails for $649, but it’s a splurge that is worth it for the family who loves home entertainment. The unit is built to last as its energy efficient E-TORL® lamp lasts up to 5,000 hours.
