If you’ve been following along on our blog and Mom Central social media platforms, you probably can tell that we love partnering with American Express this summer, giving readers the chance to win tickets to see Taylor Swift during her 1989 World tour. We experienced the show live last weekend in East Rutherford, New Jersey, where Taylor dazzled the audience with some of our favorite tracks from her album “1989” plus other favorite hit songs including “Love Story” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Appropriately, Swift opened the show with her song “Welcome to New York” – perfect for the hometown crowd. Lighting and projections galore enhanced the overall spectacular performances. Taylor’s band and dancers performed phenomenally! Both contributed to the wow factor of the show.

Taylor’s powerful voice, meaningful songs, and smile lit up the stage for two excitement-filled hours. Swift possesses an incredible stage presence, and a warm demeanor through which she truly connects with, and relates to, her fans.

Everyone at the concert was given a light-up wrist-band, activated during the performance to correspond with the beats of the music, creating a powerful visual effect throughout the performance. Even fans’ signs and costumes impressed us, which lit up, creatively inspired by Swift’s songs and music videos.

The show was a star-studded experience from the start, with Shawn Mendes, Haim, and Vance Joy opening for songstress, and special guests appearing throughout the performance. New Jersey’s own Nick Jonas came onstage to sing his hit “Jealous” with Taylor, who introduced him as someone she has known since he was 15 years old. Swift turned the stage into a virtual runway during her song “Out of Style” where she welcomed celebrities Uzo Aduba, Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo, Martha Hunt and Gigi Hadid.

It became evident as the show progressed that Taylor Swift truly cares about her fans. She addressed comments she loved on social media, saying how her fans really brighten up her days and that she considers them part of her friend circle. Swift also called out that she recognized a concert night in the summer feels like a fun, special moment – but that not all days bring the same level of excitement. She plans to remember the fun she had on this evening on those days that don’t involve the fun she experienced on the night of the show. She raises a great point – seeing Taylor Swift was a special moment that we can remember during our everyday lives. This message represents the very messaging behind the #EverydayMoments campaign from American Express – even on “normal” days, we can integrate special experiences and celebrate moments in our lives.

If you’re on the West Coast, it’s not too late to enter to win tickets to see Taylor Swift in Los Angeles! Be sure to enter here before August 4, 2015 for your chance to experience the 1989 concert on August 22!
