Many argue that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. I agree! For me, setting the stage for my busy day with a breakfast filled with good-for-you ingredients, rich in protein, starts my day off on the right note.

When I discovered the new Maypo Instant Maple Oatmeal with Quinoa, a Non-GMO Project verified food that combines maple-flavored, whole grain oatmeal with protein-rich, golden quinoa, I was absolutely thrilled.

A complete protein source rich in antioxidants, quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids and almost twice as much fiber as most other grains! Other benefits? It also proves rich in magnesium, which relaxes vessels and reduces migraines; it’s high in riboflavin (B2), improving energy, and it protects red blood cells, high in manganese.

Some oatmeals taste too sweet for me, or simply don’t leave me feeling full at the end of the meal with only one serving. That didn’t prove the case with Maypo. The recommended preparation includes combining the Maypo with milk. I used almond milk, and topped the finished product off with crushed walnuts once microwaved. It tasted warm, hearty and absolutely delicious – without being too sweet!
