Influence Central was invited to attend a KitchenAid event in NYC to facilitate this post. All opinions are our own.

This year, KitchenAid is unveiling its new dramatically designed major appliance collection available in stainless steel, black, white and black stainless steel. We had the opportunity to preview the new collection during a showcase event that took place at the Cedar Lake Dance Studio in NYC.

The new collection, which launches globally in April 2015, is inspired by the best known and most iconic product from KitchenAid, the stand mixer.

KitchenAid has been synonymous with kitchen design and innovation since it unveiled its first stand mixer in 1919 and dishwasher in 1949, which was the first dishwasher on the market for consumers!

“Our goal with the new line was to amplify the design and craftsmanship that separate KitchenAid from its increasingly non-differentiated competitors,” said Cynthia Soledad, Senior Director of KitchenAid. “In doing so, we’re reaffirming our leadership in creating products that are valued equally for how they work and look.”

A storyboard showcasing inspirations that impacted the KitchenAid design included everything from Christian Louboutin heels, classic record players, and fiery racecars. These designs are beautiful and timeless, and reflect a high sense of quality.

Incorporated into the collection is a “touch of red” – and the KitchenAid brand medallion can be found on satin textured handles and in more subtle accents throughout the collection. At the event, even our cocktails featured a signature “touch of red” – a candy medallion!

Where the physical design features are beautiful and stunning, I was very impressed with the functionality and improved performance features that can be found throughout the KitchenAid collection. Four new dishwasher models feature a NINE-in-one, dynamic wash arm, which sprays water everywhere in the dishwasher, including hard to reach places, for better coverage and superior cleaning. No more finding food stuck inside bowls, glasses, etc.!

The KitchenAid dishwasher that I had the chance to view also uses clean water to wash out the load, versus having the water filled with leftover foods, beverages, etc. spreading about, for a much stronger level of clean. Ventilation options include a new perimeter ventilation system that pulls air from each edge of the hood while increasing airflow in the center. This ventilator is strong – it actually was able to pull a hand-held weight!

I loved seeing the new 30-inch gas cooktop, which features an exclusive Even-Heat™ Torch Burner with a flame that evenly covers the bottom of cookware to ensure even heating throughout.

The Preserva® Food Care System featured in the brand’s refrigerators helps extend freshness, minimize odors and delay over-ripening. Another feature I love about the refrigerators is the FreshFlow Air Filter, designed to minimize odors.

Tired of those hard to tackle cooking stains on your countertop? The Cookshield Finish protects the cooktop from stains that may occur with high temperature cooking – the permanent finish makes it easy to wipe clean without harsh chemicals. At the event, the team even demonstrated marking the surface with a marker, and it easily wiped away!
