Spring is officially here in Boston and I know it is time to whip out my flip-flops and sandals. As a busy mom, I often find it hard to designate time for myself. There never seems to be enough time in the day to set aside some time for myself. Fortunately, I was offered a break from the daily grind and recently found myself at MiniLuxe in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Just from the street appeal I could tell that a treat awaited me. The sleek, clean modern décor proves inviting and I was greeted by two friendly faces upon entering. They promptly escorted me to my pedicure station where my technician awaited my arrival and greeted me with a warm hello and smile.

I quickly noticed that there weren’t any noisy big black oversized massage chairs (which rarely work) or dirty rolling tables that housed all of the necessary items, but rather a sleek, comfortable bench and low-lying foot sinks. My nail technician, Lizz, had a friendly, professional demeanor. Her foot and calf massage proved unbelievably relaxing and she really took pride in her work. When Lizz started putting color on my nails she realized that the bottle of color that I picked for my toes was streaking. Instead of adding solution, like so many nail salons do, Lizz immediately retrieved a brand new bottle for me.

After my pedicure, Lizz escorted me, and all of my belongings to her manicure station—soon noticing her impeccably clean manicure station, along with her tools needed to do my manicure. The first thing Lizz asked was my preference of nail shape-which I so appreciated. Up until now nail technicians always assumed what I shape I wanted.

I was immediately struck by MiniLuxe’s meticulously clean practices. Every tool goes through a three-step sanitation process. After getting hand washed with a scrub brush, tools are then placed in a medical-grade Sonicare-type of sanitation machine. The tools then go into an ultra-bright heating/sterilization process to finish. When complete, the tools are separated in vacuum-sealed packages for the next usage. After my mani and pedi, Lizz packaged up the nail file and buffer used during my appointment for me to take home. You can feel confident walking out of MiniLuxe knowing that you will not be walking out with any type of fungus or infection but only the prettiest of nails.

MiniLuxe has seven Massachusetts locations boasting a variety of services from manicures and pedicures to waxing and warm oil treatments. What better last minute gift to give Mom than the gift of MiniLuxe?
