Motherhood requires flexibility. Whether we have to pick kids up from practice or drop off the lunch they forgot, “on the move” describes Moms pretty accurately. The whirlwind of our lives often makes it difficult to find time for meals, let alone healthy ones. And if you suffer from a gluten intolerance, the search becomes that much more difficult. Even if we have sworn off fast food and French fries, the bags we carry usually hold a stash of sugary granola bars, and if Mom likes it, chances are the kids are going to eat it as well.

Even if we are aware of the amount of processed sugar in traditional snack bars, we choose to ignore it because, to be honest, they taste great. So-called “health” bars simply do not appeal do our taste buds.

Luckily, creators of The Gluten Free Bar, brothers Marshall and Elliott, propose a yummy, healthy, and gluten-free solution. After tirelessly searching for a high-protein bar that tasted as good as it made them feel, they realized that such a bar simply didn’t exist. Tired of bland health bars and tasty processed bars, Marshall and Elliott decided to fuse the best of both worlds, and in 2010 founded The Gluten Free Bar. High in protein and made of exclusively natural ingredients, the bars offer a delicious, on-the-go energy-boost for Moms and kids alike.

cpb_1024x1024When we tasted the delicious bars, we sincerely believed they couldn’t be good for us too, but upon reading the packaging surprised us. Wheat, gluten, soy, and dairy-free, the vegan bars accommodate for almost every dietary restriction imaginable (aside from nuts, as most Gluten Free Bars either contain peanuts or almonds). That the bars only incorporate whole ingredients makes it all the more surprising that they manage to boast a wide variety of flavors, including oatmeal raisin, dark chocolate coconut, chocolate peanut butter, and cranberry toasted almond, just to name a few. The natural and abundant diversity ensure that snack-time remains an exciting treat as well as a nutritional refill.

Also replete with flavors, the bites include PB+J, blueberry almond crunch, and chocolate hazelnut. The spherical shape and decadent taste made us remember how much we look forward to snack time.

Despite having been around for only five years, the company’s products can now be found in over 3,500 locations around the U.S. and Canada, so you never have to search too far to find a Gluten Free Bar – or Bite. Learn more about them at: www.facebook.com/theglutenfreebar.
