gain-lovelabelSo often as Moms we think our kids equate love with the big moments in their lives – the splashy Sweet Sixteen birthday party, the oversized holiday celebrations with all the cousins, and the long-awaited vacation excursion to a favorite destination.

But one thing I’ve noticed as my kids have grown older – my daughter just graduated from college and my son will soon finish his junior year – proves to be just how much they’ve come to appreciate the small, everyday gestures we Moms do for them, day-in and day-out. There’s nothing like living on your own and seeing what goes into having a refrigerator full of foods you love or having your favorite jeans and sweatshirt show up in your dresser drawer clean, neatly folded, and fresh-smelling.

But, it took a while. From cries of “I have a game in an hour – but I don’t have a clean soccer uniform” to “You mean my clothes have to be in the hamper for them to be washed?” I so remember those days when a pristinely made-up bed with delicious-smelling sheets and pillowcases emerged simply as the latest in a string of daily expectations.

While both of my kids embraced the off-campus apartment craze in recent years, they soon came to understand, while living on their own, the role I played in smoothing out the potentially rough edges of daily living – clean dishes when they need them, fresh-scented bath towels, and a mildew-less bathroom. My kids ultimately realized how incredibly tough it can be to run a household – even when it’s a little studio or basement apartment – and understood the hard work, long hours, and love it took to make these little details happen behind the scenes, every day.

That’s why I loved to hear about Gain’s new #LoveLabel program that celebrates the love that goes into the laundry we do for our families and how much they love the fresh-smelling clothes, sheets, towels, and more that result from doing laundry with Gain. And who doesn’t love the fresh, clean scent of Gain?

I’m also thrilled to receive from Gain my very own #LoveLabel bottle with my name on it! Now you have an opportunity to enter for a chance to win your own #LoveLabel bottle!
