Spread a Little Joy While at BlogHer Food, I had a chance to meet the Kraft brand team, who shared their collection of Philadelphia cream cheese recipes, Spread a Little Joy: A Collection of Simple and Delicious Philadelphia Recipes to Inspire and Enjoy.

Having grown up in Pittsburgh, since childhood I’ve felt a close affiliation to Philly cream cheese, a family staple on Sunday bagels and a featured ingredient in many family recipes dating back to the 1970s.

I always associated Philadelphia Cream Cheese with all-time baking classics, and found myself intrigued by this recipe for add a bit of smoothness to your guacamole.

Creamy Philadelphia Cream Cheese Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 2 fully ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup Philadelphia Cream Cheese spread
  • ¼ cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Mash avocados in a medium bowl.
  2. Add in remaining ingredients and mix well.

I added in some extra lime juice for tartness, and got a nice variation for game time snacking!
