This coming weekend my three-year old daughter and I are traveling to Boca Raton, Florida to visit my parents. Like many residents of the Northeast, my parents flock South for the winter to escape the cold. Not only does that benefit them, but gives our family a fun place to visit during the cold blistery winter!

Boca Raton may not be as thrilling of a location to visit with kids as Orlando, but it still holds lots of fun attractions. Upon doing research for my upcoming trip, I stumbled upon a great resource – Uptake.com. This site aggregate searches from popular travel sites.

According to their website, the average consumer does 10-12 web searches and visits 20-24 web sites before making their bookings today. We want to make that experience much better. We are a search engine that makes the decision about what to book easier by aggregating and semantically analyzing travel, local and lifestyle reviews and other information from across the web.

When entering in my search criteria (Boca Raton – Family), I received over 450 options. Granted, not all were targeted, but it did give me plenty of fun ideas aside from the typical beach/park route, such as water parks and museums. When clicking on each option you can see a quick description, hours of operation, address and any other basic information. It then aggregates user reviews from across the Internet, so you can see what people had to say.

Of course, keep in mind this is a travel planning site, so be prepared for lots of advertisements for hotels, airlines and other travel necessities. This can definitely get distracting, but if you can look past these distractions, I found UpTake to be a very useful tool.

Going to Boca Raton with kids like me? Here are some suggestions from UpTake!
