Scars and stretch marks can affect our level of confidence in ourselves, and let’s face it – many of us have a few blemishes that we wouldn’t mind reducing the appearance of!
When I asked my dermatologist how to reduce the appearance of a scar on my leg that resulted from a fall and bad scrape, he recommended Mederma. I used a tube of the Mederma Advanced Scar Gel on this existing scar (which I’d had for about a year) and I was pleased that the scar overall appeared lighter and less pronounced than before I began using it for treatment.
I was excited to discover a new product to use in conjunction with the Advanced Scar Gel – Mederma PM Intensive Overnight Scar Cream. This product is the first and only scar cream formulated to work at night, when skin naturally regenerates faster. Mederma PM features TripeptolTM, a skin-nourishing complex with peptides, collagen, and antioxidants, which complements skin’s nighttime activity to promote healthy-looking skin.
Another product I will have to keep in mind when it’s shorts season again is the Mederma Scar Cream Plus SPF 30. For use as a sunscreen, apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure, and reapply at least every two hours.
And since it’s not just us adults that get bumps and bruises, there’s Mederma For Kids, which is the #1 recommended product used to treat kids’ scars. We love that Mederma For Kids is non-toxic and non-staining. It also features an easy formulation for kids to use – the gel goes on purple, rubs in clear, and has a grape scent.
I love that Mederma actually has an iPhone app – the Mederma Progress Tracker – which helps you monitor your scar so that you can see the changes it’s gone through while using the product! Definitely helps you see the difference!
Another product to keep in mind for those of us who are suffering from stretch marks is the Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy. In a clinical study, over 80 percent of participants reported visible improvement after using Mederma Stretch Marks Therapy on their stretch marks! It works by locking in moisture to help prevent stretch marks, and may be used as early as the second trimester of pregnancy, and while breastfeeding. For existing stretch marks, results can be seen in as soon as 4 weeks, with optimal results in 12 weeks.
