image When traveling with kids, the same “out-the-door” routine applies, just without everything from the comfort of your house at your fingertips. Get dressed, brush your teeth, comb your hair.

And eat breakfast? The most important meal of the day often winds up taking more time than anticipated at a sit-down restaurant, costing more, or not providing enough nutrition to last the family while on-the-go until lunchtime.

Residence Inn’s new breakfast options

Residence Inn knows the importance of starting the day off right with a hot meal by offering guests a free hot breakfast with their stay.

Recently, I attended a Breakfast Briefing at the New York City Residence Inn in which the team unveiled the new “Refreshed Breakfast” options. Critical to moms, this new Refreshed Breakfast provides variety in what they give to their kids ranging from oatmeal, fresh fruit, and low-sugar cereals to fun favorites such as waffles, pancakes, and bacon.

A healthy breakfast is what moms want

The new spread was fueled by a research survey Residence Inn completed with Cooking Light and Real Simple magazines. This survey found that consumers think the perfect breakfast consists of energizing, light, and protein-packed foods. Although many of us might eat the same thing for breakfast everyday, traveling gives us the feeling to go for a heartier or more indulgent option one morning while sticking to our routine the next.

Brad Nelson, Vice President Culinary and Corporate Chef, from Marriott headquarters told us about his challenge in creating the rotating options for breakfast in over 600 Residence Inns nationwide, keeping in mind dishes that come easily assembled but that be customized such as different toppings for a waffle or breakfast burrito.

For healthy, hot, variety in breakfast, parents need look no further for their solution to morning meals when traveling than Residence Inn hotels.
