A few years ago, our front door chime stopped working. Finding the source of the problem took a full afternoon, as I had to trace the wiring from the push button back to the actual bell and then to the power supply in the garage. As my frustration grew, under my breath I wished for a wireless doorbell. – like the review unit I just received from Honeywell.
Opening the box I found a Honeywell MyChime wireless doorbell, an all-weather push button to mount outside and two additional holiday-specific soundcards containing custom chimes. I was now ready install with an arsenal of 24 custom sounds at my fingertips.
I’m a stickler for good product manuals and this one could not have been more straightforward. With only 7 pages of text and good drawings, I was able to install the batteries, link the push button wireless to the chime, test with my favorite tune and then mount both units.
Two things I didn’t try:
To add some chimes to your holidays, I have a MyChime to giveaway. Here’s the deal, post a comment below and include the name of a favorite holiday song. If it’s either one of the built-in songs or available on the Halloween or Christmas soundcards, then you are entered to win.
You can either take the easy approach and just guess (New Year’s Eve is the easiest), or actually look up the songs at the MyChime site. Your call.
Good luck!
