Wondrous snow fills up every page of this warm book, as a child and dad play in the snow along with their energized dog. The language has a playful cadence of its own: (“Snow is a plop / and a flop / and a squish. / Snow is a flutter, / a swoosh, / and a swish”). Fun snowball fights, catching a snowflake on your tongue, fort building, snow man building, dancing, and sledding all take place before the sun sets, and it’s time to retreat to the coziness of home with warm cookies, snuggles, and a book read in front of a fire. Captures a child’s perspective on the simply extraordinary wonder of snow seen with heart-pounding joy, especially in contrast to parent’s typical worries about getting too cold or wet.
