When I put an outfit together, I start from the bottom up. Call me crazy, but I consider my shoes first. As a working mom of a baby, my shoes pull double duty: comfort and style.
I tend to choose a few Lands’ End sandal styles each summer, and more and more I find myself gravitating towards something with a wedge heel. Wedges transition so seamlessly from day to night, and their platforms give this short girl a boost while maintaining built-in comfort. This spring, I can’t wait to wear the Pieced Wedge Sandals. I love the braided jute wrapping around the platform, which marries ‘classic’ and ‘casual’. I chose these sandals in the navy color because I think they’ll go with just about everything. The wider banding on top provides a bit of a different look, and adds to the overall comfort of the shoe.
The Reese Low Wedge Sandals are another great option for every day. I’ve owned a few variations of this sandal in different colors. A taller friend of mine simply loves this style because it allows her to rock the wedge look, without a lot of added height. The ankle strap provides style and stability – ideal for taking kids to the park, going for a walk, or running errands. The soft gold metallic color is a nice take on spring and summer neutral. Not too bold, but provides just the right amount of glam.
Despite the number of shoes in my closet, I admit I wear flip-flops from time to time, just because they’re so easy. Determined to kick the habit, because they provide zero support, I found these suede Wedge Sandals. featuring a cork wrapped platform which slip on just as easily. I went for the tan, but am also thinking about purchasing the black, as they paired really well with a dress that I plan to wear to a dinner event.
But alas, the temperature outside remains too cool for sandals. Last year around this time, I practically lived in a pair of white lace slip-ons from Lands’ End, so I was thrilled to find these cute latte-colored Women’s Slip-on Sneakers. I love the platform sole, and find them so versatile, I wear them with jeans as well as dresses. Adding Lands’ End’s famous personalization and monogramming to these shoes proved the icing on the cake. A heads-up if ordering, I tend to find that the slip-on sneakers run a little big, so I would go down a size.
Once again, Lands’ End has us covered for all our footwear needs. For a girl who chooses her outfit around her shoes, I know I’ll be starting off with a great foundation this season!
