Between juggling carpools to soccer practice, working long hours and making dinner for the family, we could all use more hours in a day. Despite the constant needs of our children and families, we must remember to slow down and reflect on our own health and well-being as women.

Whether personally-affected, having friends/family living with health issues, or just banding together as a community of women, supporting a cause helps us feel connected and compassionate.

Many of us have never heard of Scleroderma, but the 1 in 906 people affecting by this disease need our support. Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease primarily affecting women between the ages of 30 to 50 years old. With no known cause or cure and symptoms ranging from hardening skin and joint pain to digestive issues and lung scarring, scleroderma often leaves sufferers feeling confused, scared and alone, in addition to the physical pain they endure on a daily basis. 80% of Scleroderma patients are female, so this June, with one simple click, let’s make a difference and pledge to spread awareness for this rare, often unheard of, disease.

The Scleroderma Research Foundation, Scleroderma Society of Canada and the Scleroderma Foundation have joined forces to increase awareness for the disease with a call to action to pledge your support during Scleroderma Awareness Month this June.

With every new pledge, one more person is made aware of Scleroderma. As more people become aware of the disease, more research can be conducted and more funds can be raised.

Help us spread awareness for this cause today and sign your name to take the pledge to make at least one person aware of scleroderma who wasn’t before.
