Summer bursts with excitement, freedom, activities and foods! We find ourselves filling our days with outdoor adventures and the energy level shifts from a focus on school schedules to open-ended, longer days during this season. Think back to how summer felt and tasted when you were growing up. You can sense it and taste it, can’t you?
This shift of energy comes from many sources and one of the most satisfying comes from the gorgeous summer foods we enjoy at this time of year. Cooking out in the yard, eating under a canopy of trees, settling in for a sunny picnic lunch after a morning hike make us feel summer surrounding us.
Choices of mouth-watering summer delicacies seem unending and we want to taste them all. Summer fruits, salads, you-pick activities, lighter fare for travel and the essential watermelon slice make summer the season of freshness. Berries, peaches, cherries, apricots and the cobblers made from these fruits top our lists of favorites. What are some of yours?
We hope you enjoy this delicious, wonderful season!
