With the change of season, often comes the desire to color and/or cut our hair to feel freshened up after a long winter.
For many going extreme isn’t recommended, unless you’re reality star Kim Kardashian or Broadway’s Indina Menzel who both went extreme from their bold, dark locks to platinum blonde. However, for most, taking gradual steps to transition a shade typically works best. Although let it be noted, Kim K. didn’t last long with her extreme blonde ambition color, she’s now back to her dark tresses.
For the last several months my hair has been all one tone, my natural shade of brown and prior to that I had highlights. Well after the harsh cold winter here in Boston and spring here I finally decided it was time to color my hair again and warm it up with some golden highlights to give it dimension for a sunkissed look – I am just dreaming of sunnier, warmer days because we had such an abnormally arctic winter. So I decided to go where I knew they would know just what I needed for that color pick me up!
Beauty Parlr, known as Boston’s hidden gem, since it’s located just outside of the city, did a fantastic job bring some sunshine to my hair! If you are looking for an upscale studio that screams nothing but femininity, beauty, and sheer elegance – this is the place to go. The moment you walk in the door, just by the atmosphere and décor alone – you already get the feeling that this spot is nothing short of amazing! So imagine how you feel when you walk out the door with a new look??
The Beauty Parlr salon provides a variety of services from hair color, professional blow drys, make up, lash extensions, waxing, spray tans and more.
When it came time to wash my color out, I was looking forward to what product my colorist was going to use on me. Of course I had to ask her what products she was using because the scent smelled so good – she used the Kevin Murphy line which I was not familiar with – until now. The plumping wash and rinse have such a delicious citrus scent and left my hair feeling light and not weighed down. Based on the scent and look and feel of my hair I had to purchase it! Can’t wait to use it now overtime to see how it treats my new colored hair.
Let’s just say as the summer approaches, I have a feeling I will continue to go a bit lighter for the bronde affect!
Although another trend popping up is young woman dying their hair grey for that “granny” look – I think I’m going to let the grey come in naturally in the future – this is one trend I’m not rushing to be a part of – although for others it will look amazing!
A good hair day can change any bad day into a fabulous one! Especially when you have the right colorist and stylist. #colormyhairdon’tcare
P.S. The thoughts in this post are all my own, I was not compensated to highlight my visit to the salon.
