The Nextbook 10 Tablet – For On-the-go Family Adventures – Plus a Giveaway! 1With vacation season up and running, families soon will begin packing up, loading the car, or hopping on planes for their annual summer adventures. Whether the trip will include a state or national park camp-out, a sight-seeing exploration in a new city, or an active experience filled with hiking, biking, and more, one item will surely make the luggage/backpack/carry-on cut – an electronic tablet.

Even though we talk about “unplugging” or “getting away from it all” during vacation, we actually remain fairly well-tethered to our electronics – for good reason. We want to keep in touch with family and friends via email, we need a place to store the staggering amount of digital photos we take, we want to share our adventures with our followers on social media, and perhaps most important – the kids need to do something to fend off the inevitable squabbles when the car ride hits hour four.

Fortunately, Target stores and Target.com now offer the Nextbook 10 2-in-1 Windows tablet – a powerful tablet in a compact size that will become a great travel companion for on-the-go families this summer. The 10.1-inch tablet – featuring both Bluetooth and WiFi – comes with a removable keyboard, and when connected, forms a sturdy yet petite “laptop” that allows families to do everything from search for kid-friendly restaurants in an unfamiliar town to buy online tickets for museums and activities to take a quick peak at work email – all without dragging the bulky family laptop along for the ride.

When disconnected from the keyboard, it becomes a convenient touch-screen tablet – ideal to read a book on a long flight or for kids to watch movies in the backseat of the car or play games on they download from the Windows Store. And perhaps the best news? The tablet retails for $219.99.

The compact size and easy-on-the-family-budget price tag belie the power behind the Nextbook 10. The tablet comes with the Windows 8.1 operating system and offers an upgrade at no cost come late July to Windows 10. It also features a one-year complimentary Office 365 Personal, as well as a year’s worth of 1TB online storage – great for music and movie collections, as well as those video recordings of band concerts and dance recitals that we want to save forever. With Quad-Core Intel processing, the tablet packs a punch with 1GB and 32GB system and storage memory, respectively. While we found the track pad a little tricky to navigate, the screen offered excellent resolution and we welcomed the ability to customize the onscreen tiles.

Moreover, the Nextbook 10 proves to be a welcome addition to a family’s electronics line-up well-beyond summer travel. The smaller profile means it fits well on a kitchen table or countertop for easy access to search out recipes or to allow family members to zip off a quick email or text. And the tablet’s front and back cameras also mean the family chef can easily take a photo of the latest dinnertime creation and seamlessly post it onto social media.

Once school goes back into session, the portability and power of the Nextbook 10 also becomes a great homework resource for kids as Internet research replaces the trips to the library we all experienced in school. And all too often, kids like to do homework all over the house – instead of at a desk in their room or in a home office – so the Nextbook 10 works whether the kids want to do homework at the kitchen table or curled up on the family room sofa.

Even though we may want to take it easy this summer, families still want to stay connected – and the Nextbook 10 makes it that much easier. Click to get more information!
