LOVED this thriller and have begun recommending as a must-summer-rea to all my passionate fiction reading friends! Just be prepared to read it straight through as it’s irresistible as well as extremely well word smithed.\

Carrie Cole spends her days in a remote rural bog cottage completely immersed raising her two rambunctious young twins. Carrie gave up her fast-rising career as a talented surgeon to stay at home with her two premature babies, who she had with her second husband Robin. But she dreams of returning to surgery when Robin loses his job and decides to travel to Stockholm to visit with her Swedish surgical mentor who practices there, as well as attend a home-rental conference.

Browsing for a rental for the week she’ll be in Stockholm, Carries finds a charming cottage only to realize that the owner is Johan Kullberg, a man she was married to for one day in Thailand before he was suddenly arrested for major drug trafficking and thrown into jail for life. Carrie cannot believe that he’s a drug dealer, but he implies that a major criminal enterprise is involved and to go home and forget about him.

Complicating things, Carrie’s Mom is both a power activist as well as a terrible mother, Carrie’s sister who’s moved to Colorado to be a therapist is struggling, and Carrie’s Dad who raised the girls is dying.

When Carrie connects with Johan, old sparks fly and revelations start pealing back the mystery of Johan’s arrest. The action from there is non-stop, with unforeseen twists and hidden truths that leave your heart racing.
