The Sear’s Blue Tool Crew Announces Year Two of the “Unsung Heroes: Dad’s Making a Difference Contest”

Dads serve as role models not only in their families, but also in their communities. Nationwide they make a difference through coaching sports teams, supporting local causes, and lending a helping hand. The Sears Blue Tool Crew recently announced the latest in their series of “Do it Together” initiatives. Highlighting the unsung fatherly heroes, the current contest seeks to appreciate the hard work and exemplary deeds that often go unnoticed on a daily basis.

Through the Sears Blue Tools Crew facebook page, Dads can be nominated for their participation in community-oriented projects that characterize them as unsung heroes. Entries require a photo and a 250 words or less essay. Once submissions close on June 10^th, Ty Pennington and a panel of judges select 10 finalists. After Americans cast their votes between June 20^th and July 3^rd, one Dad receives a visit from the Sears Blue Tool Crew providing him with the tools necessary, and $30,000 worth of resources, to continue and carry out his community project. The official winner announcement will occur on Facebook on July 11^th.

In addition, Sears recently extended their initiatives including the latest DIT Traveling Toolbox. This fully stocked kit currently travels the country supporting individuals undertaking community-rebuilding projects. After each project concludes, the toolbox continues its journey across the country. With the included camera, the “Do It Together” documentary carries on its feel-good filming.
