It’s cookie swap season and that means making sure that you’re stocked up on spices, extract and all the other baking supplies you need before you start baking. That’s why Mom Central and McCormick are providing you with everything you need to make your cookie swap a success with a giveaway – details below.

But did you know that McCormick can help you find the perfect holiday cookie exchange recipe, with their Cookie Cutter recipe page on their website? You pick the cookie occasion on the inner wheel, then choose your favorite flavor from the outer circle. Then you click to find your perfect cookie match.

I picked Molasses and Easy for Kid and got Gingerbread Men, Gingersnap Cookies, and White Chocolate Kissed Gingerbread Cookies. Not only do you get the recipe complete with nutritional info, but you have the option to print it out, email it, send to your mobile phone, add it to your shopping list, and more. You can even add the recipe to your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

They even had low fat, low calorie and low sodium cookie for those of us who are trying to watch our weight this holiday season.

Anise Almond Biscotti

These could be great for Christmas breakfast or on New Year’s day with a cup of coffee or tea.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Beat flour, sugar, baking powder, anise seed, almonds and salt in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed. Beat eggs and vanilla in separate bowl. Gradually add to dry ingredients, beating just until the dough resembles wet sand. Do not over mix.
  2. Divide dough in half. Roll each half into a 12-inch long log. Transfer logs to greased baking sheet. Flatten logs to 1-inch thickness.
  3. Bake 30 minutes or until slightly risen and firm to touch. Cool logs on wire rack 15 minutes. Transfer to cutting board. Using a sharp serrated knife, cut logs diagonally into 3/4-inch thick slices. Place slices in single layer on ungreased baking sheets.
  4. Bake 10 to 13 minutes or until crisp and golden. Cool on baking sheets. Store in covered container.
