Holiday Must-Haves for the At-Home Chef from Hamilton Beach

Perfect for holiday entertaining, the programmable 1.7 liter kettle from Hamilton Beach quickly made it to the top of my holiday wish list, an ideal gift for a deserving tea or coffee lover. Avid tea drinkers know that various types of tea have different optimal brewing temperatures, and with this kettle it is easy to set the water to the actual desired degree. The kettle proves ideal for more than tea, serving as a quick way to heat up water for coffee, hot cocoa, cider, and more.

I find the electric kettle much safer than a stovetop kettle. With my former stovetop kettle, I would never know the exact temperature of the water, just turn the burner off when I heard it whistle. Many times I experienced water that was far too hot to drink, which poses a risk of burns and leaves you waiting to enjoy your beverage.

I love being able to program this kettle to heat water in advance, so if you know you’d like warm cup of tea in the morning, you can set it the evening prior. I am actually amazed by the short time it takes for water to heat – boiling water much faster than even a microwave – and doubt I’ll need to even use the timer since it’s the perfect temperature is so quick and easy to achieve when you’re ready for hot water.

The programmable electric kettle will fit aesthetically on any countertop, with stainless brushed steel that is fingerprint-resistant. I love the fact that the kettle is cord-free for easy pouring and serving. The kettle will continue to warm your water for an hour, at which point it will automatically turn off if it has not been in use.
