Now, I certainly don’t expect my daughter’s experience to be quite as dramatic as this book’s title, but I know she might face some of the problems described between the covers. The book gives thoughtful, specific advice about how to handle a roommate who has a substance abuse problem, or a mental health issue like depression, and even smaller quibbles like a boyfriend who spends a little too much time in the room.
I hope my daughter never has to face serious problems with her roommate, but as with any friendship, I expect she will encounter few minor disagreements over the course of the year. With The College Roommate from Hell, I feel confident that she can handle these problems herself in line with the new found independence she’ll gain next this year.
