Having a family means that the sun never sets on my washer and dryer. Just as I bring the empty laundry bins back to their temporary resting spots they seem to fill to the brim instantaneously. This never ending cycle is only worsened by the countless colors, fabrics and stains that turn what should be a mindless chore into a scientific process.
Never mind the anxiety that comes when I find I have accidently shrunk my son’s favorite shirt or bleached the new outfit that my daughter can’t stop talking about. After a long day it is always the small things that have the capability of doing you in- trust me, I know how you feel. Finally, Whirlpool has responded to the family plea for laundry help.
I definitely stopped and took notice as Whirlpool displayed their new innovations at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this year. The Whirlpool Vantage, the company’s new sleek, high-end washer and dryer, is equipped with numerous features that aim to ease the inevitable family laundry dilemma. The washer’s touch screen allows you to choose the particular settings from amongst 33 specialty cycles that range from bath mat to shoes and everything in between. This technology also allows the user to create custom cycles that can be saved and selected at the touch of a button. No longer do you have to select five different settings each time you load the washer.
Additional features include the system’s unique stain assist technology, fresh fan, and USB port. The stain assist technology takes your fabric and stain selections and formulates specified treatment settings that take the mental chemistry out of the equation, while the fresh fan automatically kicks in when the load is done to prevent the damp smell that I dislike so much if I am not immediately poised to move the clothes directly into the dryer. This particular model is also the first washer and dryer to come equipped with a USB port allowing for future upgrades from Whirlpool’s smart cycle technology. No longer do you have to spend a small fortune in chasing after the most high-tech, upgraded machines. Only one question remains- what are you going to do with all of your extra time?
