I’m currently looking into purchasing a new iPod. (Who would have guessed that after five years my iPod nano may suddenly stop working?)
The thing is, I don’t want to buy one brand new because as a recent grad, I like to be as frugal as possible. I’ve been looking into a lot of sites where you can both sell and buy electronics, but with some of them I just feel overwhelmed by the search results. One particularly good site I stumbled upon is Glyde.com.
This website lets you buy and sell consumer electronics, video games, books and DVDs. Simply click on buy or sell and type in what you’re looking for or what you’d like to purchase.
Just for fun, I typed in my new Kindle 3 to see what I would get for it. (No way I’m selling that anytime soon though!) I found it would sell for around $70. There’s even a selection box if I want to donate a percentage of my proceeds to a charity of my choice. This way, when I want to update to a newer Kindle, I can sell my old one pretty easily, and use some of the proceeds to fund my new purchase.
When it came to my actual purchase, I knew I would be happier with the fifth generation Nano, and was able to find the color of my choice for only $58! Eventually, maybe I’ll be ready for a touch screen iPod, but I find the older generation Nanos easier to use while running. (I can’t figure out how some people can run and browse through a touch screen at the same time. Heck, I myself have trouble texting while walking!)
Overall, I was happy with what I found while browsing the site and look forward to other electronics I can buy or sell at Glyde.com.
