Disclosure: We received a sample delivery from Blue Apron to facilitate our post. All opinions are our own.

There exist innumerable benefits to preparing our own meals. Not only do we retain control over the fresh, real-food ingredients we consume, but spending time with the family preparing (and eating!) dinners together builds lasting, lifelong memories.

As someone who possesses very little know-how in the kitchen, I appreciate Blue Apron’s meal kit delivery services for many reasons. First of all, I love that Blue Apron not only provides me with fresh, delicious ingredients to prepare interesting new recipes, but it also helps me become a better cook. With instructions laid out simply, it empowers those of us without culinary prowess to create (seemingly) intricate dishes.

The website also serves as a great resource with instructional, step-by-step videos and how-to lessons. Each delivery highlights a key ingredient prominent throughout the dishes, so we learn about the origin of the foods we are eating and the many different ways it can be served.

And because Blue Apron ships only the exact quantity of each ingredient needed for the box’s recipes, we don’t worry over wasting half a carton of unused milk or spoiling extra vegetables.

Thanks to Blue Apron, I regularly enjoy fresh, restaurant-caliber dishes that I make myself, at home!

This summer, Blue Apron developed an at-home Kids Cooking “Camp” so young ones can get involved in the meal prep process, as well. Complimentary with Blue Apron Family Plan deliveries each week through August 14th, each activity is geared towards educating kids about the joys of food and cooking – everything from core cooking skills, to where our food comes from, how it’s grown, and plating the final dish. Ways to get involved are broken down by age and skill level – making it easy to get involved in the process at any age!

My delivery box featured a young chef’s recipe for Green Chili Chicken Rolls which combines fresh salsa and the flavor of New Mexico’s famous green chili cheeseburger. After attending the Kids’ “State Dinner” at the White House, Blue Apron featured one of this amazing kid’s winning recipes! How’s that for inspiration?

With great food, a wine plan, and gadgets available for purchase, Blue Apron offers so much value. To learn more, visit www.blueapron.com. The Kids Cooking Camp is offered along with deliveries through August 14, 2016!
