Skype visit with grandparents »

To help bridge the distance with my out-of-state in-laws, my family and I engage in frequent Skype visits, to make sure our two small kids can spend time with their grandparents as often as possible. As a result of these weekly virtual visits, we’ve gotten pretty good (and creative!) at making the most of this time, because we all know how short the attention span of a small child can be, especially if it involves asking them to sit in front of a computer screen but not playing a game or watching a video!

Let’s talk iPhone! »

For a very, very long time, I relied on a simple cell phone to make phone calls. No web connectivity, no camera, no apps, no cool cases/covers designed by famous artists, this relic was a brick with a keypad on it. It had rudimentary text messaging and wonky voicemail services, neither of which I used often.

Phineas & Ferb: Across the Second Dimension Review and Giveaway »

The first time I saw the main characters from Phineas & Ferb I thought they looked strange. One has a head shaped like a triangle and the other has pants pulled up practically to his armpits. These guys seemed…off. Then I watched an episode of the animated series (because I sat in the same room as my kids and the show was on) and I fell in love with this show. It’s funny, smart, and quirky. The music is outstanding, and I have a hard time choosing my favorite character.

Buy and sell your electronics, movies and books at Glyde.com »

I’m currently looking into purchasing a new iPod. (Who would have guessed that after five years my iPod nano may suddenly stop working?) The thing is, I don’t want to buy one brand new because as a recent grad, I like to be as frugal as possible. I’ve been looking into a lot of sites where you can both sell and buy electronics, but with some of them I just feel overwhelmed by the search results. One particularly good site I stumbled upon is Glyde.com.

I just entered junior high school and experiencing all the typical angst, like navigating the halls of a big, overwhelming school and trying to get comfortable with all the social pressures. Then entered algebra, a whole new dynamic in math. You could say I was majorly stressed out! Math never came easy to me, so I had to work extra hard to stay on top of my studies and keep my grades up.
