During my trip to Orrville, Ohio, my new friends and I embarked on a nighttime excursion to Cleveland. Little did I know that this evening out would turn into an unbelievable culinary experience. Arriving at a restaurant in the urban neighborhood of Tremont, located about five minutes from downtown Cleveland, I grew increasingly intrigued by the invitingly modern design. In mere minutes, the restaurant began its process of exceeding my expectations in nearly every aspect imaginable.
The creative culinary experience, described as “contemporary American regional cuisine”, takes on a life of its own. The only manner in which to truly describe Fahrenheit comes from paying tribute to its creator — Chef Rocco Whalen.
After graduating from Pennsylvania Culinary, Rocco traveled west and spent five years working side by side with Wolfgang Puck. Later landing the job as sous chef at Blue Point Grille, Rocco returned to Cleveland. In 2002, he opened his own restaurant — Fahrenheit. Now in its seventh year of wowing guests, impressing visitors, and amazing the media, Rocco’s restaurant quickly continues to grow in the ranks from a fresh spot in Cleveland to a globally recognized rising star.
The best news of all arrived when I learned that Chef Rocco’s new show premieres on Food Network next January. Keep your eyes on the television schedule and watch out for Rocco’s show to understand exactly how he creates incredibly inventive and creative dishes with a flair all his own.
