The Perfect Getaway: A Weekend at Chicago’s Hotel Monaco

 

Getting lost in the details of planning a trip happens a little too easily. With promotions, reviews, and comparisons on everything from flights to hotels, narrowing the options down can becoming so overwhelming! If you can take the guess-work out of one of these aspects with a guaranteed good experience, it makes planning a trip that much easier. I’ve had the luxury of staying at Kimpton Hotels during both work and pleasure trips, and am never disappointed. That’s why I was so excited to have the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Monaco in Chicago for a girl’s weekend recently. The location, accommodations, service, and amenities really made the trip!

Chicago is one of my favorite places to spend time and Hotel Monaco captures the spirit of the city. The rooms are luxurious and sophisticated and feature the coolest tree house-esque window seats overlooking truly breathtaking views of the Chicago River. I could have sat there and read a book all day. But, with all the adventures the city has to offer, I had to get up and go!

Fortunately, Hotel Monaco is just steps away from Michigan Avenue shopping, Millennium Park and the Art Institute. After my girlfriend and I spent the day shopping, eating and seeing the sights, we were more than happy to take advantage of Hotel Monaco’s great amenities. Hotel Monaco offers a complimentary Wine Hour every night for guests to unwind and socialize. They also have a complimentary onsite 24/7 fitness center, an award-winning restaurant and an amazing staff who was so accommodating and friendly. To conclude the evening, we couldn’t have been happier to settle in our plush room and enjoy the adorable care package, complete with cozy socks, eye masks and chocolate (yum!), that the Hotel Monaco staff sent us. Talk about pampered—it was the perfect getaway!
