This past November I traveled to Dallas with my family for the Thanksgiving holiday. This was my first time traveling as the mom of two. I was very anxious about the whole experience, especially the dreaded “getting through security” adventure. I get antsy when going through security on my own, so you can only imagine the pressure I put on myself when trying to usher two small little travelers along!
I like to think of myself as a highly organized person, especially when I’m traveling. Before walking up to the security checkpoint, I always make sure to get everything ready to go (think George Clooney in Up in the Air) to get through as quickly as possible. So, when traveling with two kids for the first time, I made sure to spend extra time getting their things as organized as possible so we could quickly breeze through security. Did all my planning work? Yes and no.

Now keep in mind these are just my tips for passing through airport security with small children. Getting through the actual flight with clean clothes and happy children is a whole ‘nother story!
