We all love the ease of use that our portable technology devices give us. We can carry our laptops anywhere and instantly connect with anyone in the world. Likewise, our MP3 players have moved beyond simply providing us with music on the go to giving us Internet access, games, and so much more. Albeit convenient, the majority of these products just don’t offer the same quality of performance for bigger projects.
For those of us who don’t own computers with top of the line built-in cameras and microphones, fuzzy video or poor sound quality can interfere when we try to connect with friends and family via web chatting. To help remedy this problem, Blue Microphones, makers of high quality audio equipment and accessories, have released the Eyeball 2.0 web camera.
The web camera does not require any software installation — just plug it into your computer and you’re up and running. The tiny retractable camera has high-definition resolution and delivers high quality audio thanks to its professional-quality condenser capsule. Blue does specialize in microphones after all, so the CD-quality audio should not come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Blue’s namesake.
In addition to their line of web cameras, Blue has also created a portable microphone called the Mikey. Designed for the iPod, the Mikey offers mobile recording for lectures, interviews, and concerts.
