I have loved wearing nail polish since I was a little girl. Picking out the perfect shade to match an outfit or celebrate a holiday is always a lot of fun. However, I also care about the environment and my health, so I purchase natural products when I can. For these reasons, I have been on the lookout for a safer polish alternative that would still look lustrous and would not immediately chip.
Dr. Adam Cirlincione and Dr. William Spielfogel are board-certified Podiatric Surgeons based in New York. They founded Dr.’s Remedy to address the needs of their patients, who complained of brittle, dry and discolored nails. The doctors put their years of practical experience and medical knowledge into action, by developing a product that was not only safe for their patients to use, but also featured the highest quality ingredients. Dr.’s Remedy is the first nail polish to receive approval from the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr.’s Remedy offers over 30 different shades of nail color along with nail care products such as base coat, top coat, cuticle care and nail hydration treatment. Infused with a special blend of ingredients selected by Dr. Cirlincione and Dr. Spielfogel, that includes wheat protein, tea tree oil, garlic bulb extract and lavender. Dr.’s Remedy products do not contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, camphor, phthalates, or DBP, unlike typical nail polish. And thanks to tea tree oil, this polish can even help combat nail fungus (talk about a bonus!).
I was excited to learn about how Dr.’s Remedy Enriched Nail Care came to be, and to try their products. From the moment I put on the base coat, I could tell that these were high quality polishes. I appreciated the smooth application, and loved the finished results! Favorite colors include Slate – a metallic gray-blue color, and Mindful Mulberry – a warm berry color. Fans of neutral shades will also be delighted, with colors like Nude Pink or Positive Pastel Pink – both ideal for those who prefer a subtler look. I received so may compliments on my nails wearing these polishes, and friends didn’t believe that I had not gotten a professional manicure! I attribute this to the quality of the polish, along with the shine that both the colors and the top coat provides.
My nails often do get brittle and crack using traditional polishes, so I am eager to continue using Dr.’s Remedy to see if there is some overall improvement with time.
