Mom Hacks – Outdoor Family Activities
We’re approaching the time of year when (yay!) we will no longer have to make school lunches, but that also means we’re approaching the time of year when the “I’m bored”s will set in. Have an arsenal of fun, cheap, and easy things to do outdoors ready:
- Set up a lemonade stand
- Play tag or hide-and-seek
- Go to the park
- Take a walk in the woods
- Visit a local outdoor pool or splashpad
- Make art using sidewalk chalk
- Play “Chinese” or traditional jump rope
- Make a scavenger hunt
- Make a birdfeeder
- Lay down and look at clouds
- Run through the sprinkler
- Throw a baseball, football, or frisbee
- Plant some flowers, or vegetables
- Use your smartphone to go geocaching
- Make art using an old sheet and paint
- Learn to juggle or skip double-dutch
- Go for a bike ride
- Have a water balloon battle
- Pitch a tent for evening fun

Originally from Montréal's West Island, I now explore the beautiful trails of Hamilton, Ontario. Proud Canadian, vegetarian, dog-adopter, & bleeding-heart liberal. I smile a lot because I have Resting Bitch Face.
