Drones. We hear about them, and see them flying around us more and more, whether at a visit to a local park or beach, or capturing footage from a special event such as a wedding, graduation or bar mitzvah. Prior to discovering the PowerEgg, I thought drones seemed intimidating – because of the element of “unknown” – but after learning about this revolutionary new product, I can see how a drone might easily fit into our family lifestyle – and now I want one!
As a child, the only eggs I saw in the sky were part of our science class’s “egg drop” challenges. When PowerEgg begins shipping to consumers who purchased the unit during pre-order, we’ll see eggs moving up, not down!
PowerVision Technology Group, leaders in the commercial drone space for years, designed PowerEgg to look beautiful while also proving to be a very functional, approachable piece of equipment. Designers engineered the shape to like an egg so that its wings and parts could fold out and up, and then easily fold back in to the device. PowerEgg’s sleek and innovative design addresses user demand for easy drone portability with its pack-and-go features.
PowerEgg’s integrated 4K UHD camera can produce professional-grade photographs and videos with panoramic 360 degree views on a 3-axis gimbal, delivering stabilized aerial views with an immersive “spherical” experience. The camera itself weighs under 5 pounds, and provides a 360-degree perspective that can easily be turned on in various modes: from ‘selfie’ mode, where it takes a picture of you from the sky, to ‘follow me’ mode, where it follows your path from behind. In addition, PowerEgg’s flight software includes multiple automated flight modes that let the user easily frame their shots while the PowerEgg automatically manages its flight path.
You can use the traditional controller (reminiscent of a video game controller) that requires two hands. A second controller, reminiscent of a Nintendo Wii controller, requires only one hand and is called the PowerEgg Maestro, allowing users to “conduct” the camera much like a conductor would his/her orchestra. With PowerEgg Maestro, takeoff and landing can be achieved with the push of a button so that anyone can fly PowerEgg right out of the box. Its 20-hour operating time provides a lot of freedom, not to mention, the PowerEgg’s ability to travel 3.1 miles from the controller means more images for you with less setup time.
As opposed to storing it in the garage or out of sight, its aesthetic design makes it the perfect addition to your family room’s entertainment center so that the PowerEgg can actually be used whenever you feel the desire to record, whether inside the home to capture a game night, or packed up for a road trip. You can easily view videos you shoot via the app, giving you instant gratification on your video skills. The PowerEgg comes with a backpack making it easy to store the device and accessories, which retails for $218 – but can be yours free with your PowerEgg pre-order!
The PowerEgg retails for $1,288. A hefty price tag, but for all this drone offers, a worthwhile investment if you are looking for a high-quality performance camera to capture your special (and everyday!) moments. PowerEgg global pre-orders are now being taken at the PowerVision Online Store with shipping scheduled for mid-October 2016.
