Moms come in every shape, size and parenting style. And although all unique, one Mom truth proves pretty universal: we rarely take time for ourselves or for our own leisure activities. Between our jobs, volunteer commitments, taking care of our children, as well as helping to care for our extended family members, we allocate very little time to relax and take care of ourselves. We may not have the time or energy to work out or go for massages regularly, but we know there exist tremendous benefits to doing so. As we age, little aches and pains become bigger ones, reminding us to make time to head off age-related health complaints at the pass for many active, agile years to come.

The Melt Method Stop the World Melt with You

Enter The MELT Method. Sue Hitzmann developed The MELT Method to help us ease pain, relieve signs of aging, and simply feel more relaxed and better about our bodies. Better yet, we can do it on your own, and 10 minutes a day proves sufficient to take us down the road to relaxation.

The MELT Method kit we received includes 8 small treatment balls, 2 sets of instructional DVDs, a foam body roller, and the original New York Times Bestseller book, The MELT Method. We jumped at the chance to use the soft balls for hand treatment.

The MELT Method offers a unique way to make us feel better, no matter our age. The book includes clear and concise instructions, completed with pictures that add more details. The hand treatment requires little space and much of it involves gliding and rolling the ball in different positions. These little exercises took around 5-7 minutes in total, and we found them easy to self-administer.

Our favorite part of the MELT method hand exercises includes the grip and wrist assessment before and after the treatment exercise. Knowing that hydration proves so important to good health, we liked that the wrist assessment helped to point out signs of potential dehydration if any were present. As for the grip assessment, we noticed that both grip and flexibility strengthened, and we felt less tension around our wrists. After the treatment, we felt better and as if the joints in our hands livened up.

Our experience with MELT allowed us to achieve relaxation in a different manner. Instead of de-stressing by collapsing at the end of the day watching the latest reality TV drama, MELT promoted a sense of “activeness” and in control of our body. With MELT, we’ve “seen the difference, and it’s getting better all the time.” Pick it up and give it a try yourself!
