Mom Central received a complimentary UrthBox to facilitate this post. All opinions are our own.
Most of us can relate to a desire to eat healthier in the new year. One of the big obstacles to this is usually convenience. It can be challenging to identify for ourselves what snacks best fit into a plan for better eating, and in our fast-paced lives, we usually grab the first thing we see at the store. Luckily, UrthBox has come on the market to provide a solution to take the guesswork out of healthy choices in a way that’s easier than ever.
UrthBox launched in November 2013 as a subscription-based service delivering tasty treats to your door on a monthly basis. Members can choose from Classic, Gluten-Free, Vegan, Diet or Snacker (just snacks), and receive a box filled with curated snacks, foods and beverages. Inside the box is an overview of the products, including where you can purchase them. Another option is to buy products you like from the UrthBox store. Members can earn points for each subscription month, for referring friends, and making purchases, all which lead to bigger discounts at the UrthBox store.
We received a sample UrthBox, which included a mix of snacks, some of which we were familiar with, and others that were new. It was a great variety of cookies, chips, fruit snacks, coconut water and even gum! All were nutritious and much better snack options than what we typically go for. In reviewing the accompanying list, many of the snacks could be purchased at stores not far from where we live so UrthBox definitely helps to raise awareness for products that we would have previously passed over. In that regard, it will certainly change our future shopping habits.
It may seem simple, but UrthBox is a great tool to put you on the right track for healthier choices in 2014. It’s hard to avoid snacking, but UrthBox takes the guilt out of it by providing more nutritious options that are no less indulgent.
