October marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Sadly, very few of us can say we don’t know someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. Whether it affected you personally, or the life of your mother, aunt, grandmother, cousin, sister or friend, this fight feels extremely personal to women everywhere. Thankfully, due to hard work and fundraising, as well as advances in cancer research, treatment, and early detection, many women now survive breast cancer.
Helping women everywhere fight the good fight, Weight Watchers offers a limited-edition 24-oz water bottle and journal in its meeting rooms nationwide and in its online shop this month, with 100% of profits benefitting the American Cancer Society’s efforts to help save lives from breast cancer. We think supporting breast cancer funding by purchasing items we use every day proves an easy way for many of us to contribute to a positive impact where breast cancer is concerned.
Also this month, our friends at Lands’ End kick off their second annual Pink Thread Project, to help raise awareness and funding for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Simply by adding any monogram or embroidered icon using pink thread to Lands’ End apparel, accessories or home goods, we can show our support of this important initiative, while raising money to fund life-changing breast cancer research.
Let’s do what we can to help bring an end to breast cancer by participating in, or spreading the news about, these great initiatives.
