Munchery features a delicious selection of menu items for entrees, sides, desserts, beverage, breakfast and kids’ options. Entrees, sides and desserts are created by Munchery’s own chefs – all of whom have prior restaurant experience (many at Michelin-starred restaurants). Munchery looks for creative culinary team members, passionate about using local, fresh ingredients to make good food accessible to all diners’ tastes and preferences. Diners select the menu items they wish in their desired quantity and ideal delivery time, and receive items packaged in spill-proof containers to separate individual ingredients and keep foods fresher longer. Munchery recommends menu items be eaten within day of delivery, or within a day or two if quickly preserved in the refrigerator.
The menu changes daily and focuses on seasonal ingredients, but each city boasts its own “favorites” menu of 3-5 bestselling dishes. For NYC, these include Garlic Shrimp Linguine, Pesto Ricotta Meatball Sub, and North Carolina-style Pulled Pork.
We decided to order a few menu items using Munchery and found the experience rather seamless. I selected my ideal delivery date and window, and had a hard time choosing between which sides and entrees I wanted more, so wound up ordering one meal to enjoy at the office and a second one to take home and enjoy.
I loved Chef Rachel Hazen’s Italian Veggie Burger. This definitely proved one of the most delicious veggie burger creations I have ever tasted. I loved the fresh ingredients – especially the eggplant, which you could taste throughout the sandwich. The burger was accompanied by seasonal greens, arugula and a juicy red pepper.
Another unique pairing I enjoyed trying was the Sake Ginger Plum Salad. I love eating plums, but would have never thought of them as the main ingredient of a side salad! The tart fruit complemented the sake and ginger flavors perfectly. What a combination!
The Chilled Sumer Gazpacho tasted so refreshing – ideal with the pan de quejo – an absolutely amazing cheese-infused bread.
I love the idea of ordering Munchery when I am entertaining friends or even having a more casual movie or game night at my home. Shipped with easy-to-prepare instructions, items only require either a few minutes in the microwave or a quick reheating in the oven. With prices competitive with those of ordering much less mouthwatering takeout, I know I will find myself ordering Munchery straight to the office during a busy work week!
Delivery options vary depending on the area (you can check details depending on the zip code here). I love that Munchery offers both on-demand and scheduled ahead delivery. For on-demand, you can order any time between 4-9pm for delivery within 20-40 minutes. You can also schedule your delivery for a 1-hr window between 4-9pm, up to the morning/early afternoon of the delivery. This works well for those planning a get-together or their weekly meals, but still leaves opportunity to satisfy same-day cravings for the delicious Munchery cuisine! Same-day cutoffs vary by location, from 2pm-3:30pm (details for each zip code here)
Munchery currently serves San Francisco, Seattle, New York and Los Angeles. According to representatives, Munchery is eyeing expansion to ten more cities in the next 1-2 years.
