Disclosure: We received a Starbucks Verismo machine to review, and one to offer as a reader giveaway to facilitate our post. All opinions are our own.

I grew to love coffee because of Starbucks Coffee Company. I never really enjoyed coffee until a Starbucks café store opened near my home about 15 years ago. The company really set the standard for coffee and espresso beverages, and I must admit, since my first cup, I evolved into quite a picky coffee drinker, and a morning doesn’t go by without a coffee in-hand to start my day.

Although the convenience and time-saving nature of the recent entrance of in-home brewing systems intrigued me, I hesitated to compromise the quality of my coffee beverage, so never considered purchasing one.

When I discovered the Verismo System 600 by Starbucks, I knew that it would prove the perfect single cup at-home brewer for me, as it marries the simplicity of the single-cup system coupled with the Starbucks standards I have known to grow and love: consistently flavorful, fresh coffee packed into every Verismo system pod.

The Verismo wowed me with its speed and ease of use. After simply filling the water tank, the machine heated up in less than 15 seconds. Then, I selected whether I wanted to brew an espresso, brewed coffee, or hot water after effortlessly inserting the pod into the machine. The Verismo features a height-adjustable drip tray – ideal if you want to make a solo espresso in a small cup, or brew directly into a larger tumbler for your on-the-go coffee.

The signature Starbucks Espresso roast that we all have come to know and love in Starbucks stores is the same coffee that is available in Verismo pod format. It has been engineered with high—pressure technology to allow users to create their favorite Starbucks espresso beverages at home. Look at your Starbucks store for favorites like mocha, vanilla syrup, and more!

You can easily brew some of your favorite Starbucks coffee varieties with the machine, including favorites like Sumatra, Colombia, Veranda and Pike Place Blend. Seasonal favorite such as Anniversary Blend and Holiday Blend are also available for a limited time.

I love how Verismo allowed me to perfectly brew these favorite coffees, along with the precision needed for the perfect cup of espresso, as both regular and decaf espresso cups exist. I used to have an in-home espresso machine, and the consistency of the espresso quality I brewed always proved a gamble. With Verismo, I always brew an espresso on par with what I would order at my Starbucks café. Some pods include milk, such as the Verismo Caffe Latte or Teavana Masala Chai Tea Pods.

If you use a custom milk, such as soy or almond, look into purchasing a Verismo Milk Frother. You can easily heat up your milk of choice to pair it with your espresso beverage and really be your own at-home barista!

The daily maintenance on the machine is simple. You can empty the drip trays, wipe down the tanks, using a mild detergent if necessary.

The Verismo System 600 is available for $149 in Starbucks stores and online at the Starbucks store.
